lacrime purificanti (ital. for cleansing tears) was first unveiled 2023 during the artists exhibition in Hamburgs Elbphilharmonie.

The artwork embodies the pain when something has to be let go off and yet something new begins. In fragments the foundation remains standing, just like the foundation of the Elbphilharmonie. The mirrored facade which towers upon it reflects the sky and can function as a link between it and the water. This is just the case with Mazzasette’s artwork. The rainclouds embody the merging of water and sky. Through the collision of confrontation and retreat something previously standing is being redefined – the calm water comes alive again. Everything begins to flow – back to it’s origin, the fountain.
